A Prayer for a Heavy Heart

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30 ESV

Father God, today my heart feels heavy.

I feel like the weight is on my shoulders, and it is pressing me down, down, down.

May I come to you, with a weary heart, and find rest in you.

You say to take your yoke. Will you show me how to do that Lord?

Will you help me learn from you Jesus?

Your gentleness invites me in, and beckons to me to take rest for my soul.

Will you show me that your yoke is easy, and your burden is light?

Take my burden Lord, help me take your yoke, and may my heart no longer feel heavy.

In your holy name,

Amen.

Welcoming Interruptions
